Wheat harvest 2019 has officially begun for Kanza Cooperative Association. Farmer Butch Roths harvested a truck and a half of wheat on the evening of June 17 and brought it to the Furley location on the morning of June 18.
The loads tested between 13.2% and 13.5% for moisture and had a test weight range of 57.2 lbs./bu. to 58.1 lbs./bu.
Based on forecasts of rain throughout Kanza’s trade area for Tuesday evening, it may be several more days before harvest is in full swing.
