Seven students from across Kansas participated in the Kansas Cooperative Council (KCC) Youth Leadership Camp held July 8-11 at Rock Springs 4-H Center.
Kanza Cooperative Association sponsored Ruby Howell of Preston to attend. Ruby, who will be a junior at Pratt High School this fall, is the daughter of board member Jason Howell and his wife Pam.
This program was a fun and engaging educational event for high school students with the goal developing leadership skills and teaching the cooperative principles. Students used the information they learned to start their own snack cooperative. Parents and representatives from sponsoring cooperative attended a finale event. This event took on the form of the cooperative’s annual meeting and showcase highlights and lessons from the week.
