Kanza Installs AEDs

Feb 27, 2023

Kanza Cooperative Association recently installed Automated External Defibrillators (AED) throughout the companies trade territory. An AED will be located at or in close proximity to most of our locations.

Kanza views the addition of AEDs as an investement in the health and safety of both our employees and members of the community who may find themselves in need of the device. Many of these devices are being installed in remote areas that have longer response times from emergency services.

“This is just a responsible step to take for our members, employees and communities we’re located in,” said Derrick Slocum, Kanza Safety and Compliance Manager. “Anything can happen to anyone, at any age, at any time and since many of our locations are isolated from emergency medical services, we need to have the ability to assist in these situations.”

These AED are user friendly and do not require advance training. The units guide the user through voice directions for the steps of pad placement, chest compressions and automatic shocks as needed. AEDs provide immediate medical attention that will and has saved numerous lives while waiting for emergency service to arrive.
