The Kanza Cooperative Association Board of Directors is excited to announce the creation of the Bruce and Geneva Krehbiel Family Scholarship Endowment through the South Central Community Foundation (SCCF).

Bruce Krehbiel is set to retire on June 30 after more than 36 years as the organization’s CEO. During his tenure, Kanza has grown to include facilities in 15 communities including Harvey, Kiowa, Pratt, Sedgwick and Stafford counties. The endowment will be a lasting sign of appreciation for Bruce and his family’s many contributions to the success of cooperative members and the community over the past four decades.

“We owe a great deal of our success and stability as an organization to Bruce’s leadership as CEO,” said Alvin Neville, Kanza’s Board Chairman. “This endowment honors and preserves his legacy of leadership, while building a better future for local students.”

SCCF accepts scholarship submissions annually from January 1 through March 15. The first scholarship from this endowment will be awarded this coming spring to a student in the class of 2024.

Kanza’s initial donation is being matched or added to by several organizations including Land O’Lakes, ProValue Insurance, CoBank, Bayer Crop Science, StoneX and Heartland Ag Systems. Pledges and donations to the endowment currently total more than $100,000.

If you have questions or would like to donate to the fund, contact SCCF at (620) 672.7929 or sccf@sccfks.org.
